DREAM SPORT Smart Ring + Ringlo: Keep Your History
A plain polished band sold on Amazon, which we have not tested. What we can tell you is something no listing will: what the stock app does to your sleep history.
What we know, and what we are guessing
Known: a plain polished band, with an Amazon product listing. That is all. No DREAM SPORT ring has been on this desk, no Bluetooth session from one has reached us, and we hold no capability record for it. The seller’s specifications are not repeated here, because we cannot verify a single one of them.
The one question that decides it
Which app the listing tells you to install. SmartHealth or YCBT Life means the YCBT protocol, which Ringlo reads. Any other app name means we cannot promise anything. If you already own it, installing Ringlo and tapping scan answers the question in under a minute.
The stock app deletes your ring’s history
This is the finding we would most want a buyer to have, and we only have it because we recorded the stock app’s own Bluetooth traffic. During an ordinary sync, SmartHealth sends the ring four commands that clear its stored history. We watched it happen: one of those commands is byte-for-byte the one that emptied a Ringlo user’s ring, costing him a night of sleep data that could not be recovered. Deletion on these rings is final — there is no undo and no second copy on the ring.
Ringlo sends none of those four commands. Every delete channel is switched off in our code and there is a test that fails the build if anyone turns one back on. The practical consequence: if you run both apps on the same ring, the other one can empty it between your syncs.
Why there is no photo on this page
DREAM SPORT’s own terms do not permit reuse of their product images, and there is no press kit. Rather than crop a marketplace screenshot, we leave it out and describe the ring in words.
About the blood-pressure number
Almost every listing in this category advertises blood pressure. We took that apart on a ring we own, and the answer is the same for all of them: the figure is produced by the ring’s own firmware from your pulse, and it is an estimate, not a measurement. None of these rings has a cuff — we checked the capability flag on 941 of them and not one claims an inflatable band. The vendor’s own idea of “calibration” is a settings screen where you type in your normal blood pressure. Ringlo shows the number because your ring produces it, labels it an estimate, and never writes it to Apple Health or Health Connect, because a health record files it next to real cuff readings.
