What App Works With My Cheap Smart Ring?
You bought a smart ring on AliExpress, Temu, or Amazon, the bundled app is rough, and you want something better. If your ring runs a protocol Ringlo reads, you don't need a new ring — just a better app. Here's how to check.
What app works with an AliExpress or Temu smart ring?
Many cheap smart rings run one of two Bluetooth protocols. YCBT is the protocol behind the rings that ship with the SmartHealth or YCBT Life app. BlueX is the protocol behind the Colmi rings that ship with QRing or Colmi Fit. Ringlo works with both — so if your ring runs either one, you keep it and simply change the app.
How do I tell which protocol my ring uses?
Look at the stock app your ring came with. Here's what we know:

If your app isn't listed, scanning with Ringlo is the quickest way to find out. The mapping mostly matters when you're deciding whether a ring is worth buying.
What is an ATS8266 or DL110 ring?
The Actions Semiconductor ATS8266 chip paired with the DL110 reference design is the ring Ringlo was built around. It speaks the YCBT protocol, and it's fully supported by Ringlo: heart rate, SpO2, blood pressure, sleep, and steps, plus HRV as a trend: the ring's hourly value, or an estimate from heart rate when the ring gives none. The DL110 is the ring the Ringlo team wears and tests daily — it's hardware-verified.
Which rings work with Ringlo?
- YCBT / DL110 (ATS8266) rings — full support, verified. Heart rate, SpO2, blood pressure, sleep, and steps. HRV is a trend: the ring's hourly value, or an estimate from heart rate.
- Colmi R02, R03, R06, R10 on QRing / Colmi Fit (BlueX) firmware. Heart rate, SpO2, sleep, and steps. Blood pressure isn't available on the Colmi/QRing path. The R10 is verified on our own ring; R02, R03, and R06 rings have connected for Ringlo users. These rings require Bluetooth bonding.
- V-Ring and SY rings (SY01, SY02, STILEFIX). Heart rate, SpO2, HRV, stress, steps, and sleep. No blood pressure on these rings. They require Bluetooth bonding.
- SR08 / Aolon (FEF5 family) — new. The SR08 connects and pairs (Bluetooth bonding, and it streams on its own once connected). SpO2 is supported; heart rate is rolling out. No blood pressure on this ring.
- Any other ring — not supported. If a ring isn't YCBT, BlueX, V-Ring/SY or SR08/Aolon, Ringlo will tell you so during pairing rather than half-connecting. We used to read heart rate and battery from any ring advertising the standard Bluetooth services, and we removed it: on some of those rings the readings were nonsense (we measured heart rates in the tens of thousands), and a number that wrong is worse than no number.
Which rings don't work?
- Some rings with Colmi-style R-series names are clones on a protocol called efe0 that Ringlo can't read yet.
- QRing rings named QRRM… use a different chip and have never connected.
- TK16- and TK18-style rings (the f618 family) and rings that only work with HBand aren't supported yet.
- Bonding-gated rings that fail Android's pairing step won't connect.
- Any other ring is named as not supported during pairing, rather than half-connecting.
The 10-second check. The fastest way to know is to try it. Download Ringlo (free 14-day trial, no credit card), open it, and tap Scan on the pairing screen with the ring within a foot of your phone. A compatible ring shows up in about 10 seconds — tap to connect. If nothing appears, charge the ring for 10 seconds to wake it, then scan again.
